SOLO SHOWDOWN

WHY ?

ROUND

THREE

WILDCARD

The Solo Showdown was an idea that came to us once we started to see the popularity of the solo categories. With that we started to weave our mission of giving everyone the opportunity to dance into the lay out of our competition and we thought giving everyone the chance to dance multiple times felt it added a unique competitive flair to an already electrifying competition. With that, here’s everything you need to know about the Showdown layout and what makes it so special:

ROUND

ONE

The competition begins with all soloists performing their routines in two heats, featuring a mix of genres. Judges will evaluate each performance, recognizing dancers within their specific genres— Top Tier Awards will be presented, celebrating excellence within each style.

AWARD RULES

7 or more dancers - 1st, 2nd and 3rd

4 to 7 dancers - 1st and 2nd

3 dancers or less - 1st

ROUND

TWO

The Top 10 dancers, including any Wild Card selections, will return to the stage to perform their solos once more. This round is the final opportunity for dancers to impress the judges and leave it all on the stage.

After the final performances, the judges will select the Top 5 dancers. These dancers will be awarded runner-up positions, with the top soloist earning the title of True West Champion.

In addition to the top 5 dancers from each heat (10 dancers total), there are two Wild Card spots available. These spots are awarded to dancers who may not have placed in the top five but delivered exceptional performances. To qualify for a Wild Card spot, a dancer must receive a score of 93.0 or higher.
